Thank you for the photographs of Blata Croatia, my Father in law Milos Ogrizovic lived there as a child and left during the second world war never to return. Shortly before his death last year I was able to show him your photographs and although much had changed he still recognised the area. He always loved the village and always spoke of it with great affection. Thank you.

We'll see. We did have another book store, close to where Barns & Noble used to be, and they didn't last long. However, that's when we had all other book stores open, so there was competition. I'm curious about the grand opening of this new bookstore you've mentioned. Do you know the date?

Yes, I've heard about the new book store. I forgot the name, but my cousin told me that there is one in the city and it's a smaller store, nothing like Borders.

You make a very good point. Not only is it a good point, but it is an eye opening one. Technology is great. It's many advances have helped mankind in ways that were once unthinkable. However, what's the limit?? Where does the line of technology have to be drawn?? I can't see a line. At this point I feel as though technology has no limit. It is a terribly sad thing to see Borders closing. It was also sad to see the one in the mall and Barnes & Nobles close.

My mothers best friend, Cindy, for over 25 years, works as a store manager at the Borders in Chicago Ridge mall. Sadly, they are also closing this store very very soon. She was the store manager at Walden's Book in River Oaks mall before that closed. Her mother also works at the Borders in Highland and has worked there for many years (her name is Lynne I'm sure you've seen her lol). Cindy is in a strong debate with herself, because she has been offered a new store manager position at a book store soon to be opening in Westfield Mall in Merrillville. Her struggle, why go to another bookstore that may very well end up closing also? Also she's been informed that this new bookstore coming is only taking a 1 year lease. Guess they are concerned about how long they will last also. I don't know if you were aware of this new bookstore but I thought I'd fill you in. Could be a very small spot of light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
